Velo NB is proud to offer our members a quality insurance program to cover their needs.
Our core insurance coverage provided by Velo NB to its members only applies during sanctioned activities, including races, rides and training organized by Velo NB or by affiliated clubs. When individuals are using their bicycle outside of these times, that activity would not qualify for coverage.
During the membership registration process members who would like their non-sanctioned activities covered can purchase a “buy-up” to extend Sport Accident cover to these activities.
- For an additional $25, we can extend coverage to individual training activities, defined as rides for the purposes of exercise or training, not using the bicycle as a mode of transportation.
- For an additional $105, we can extend cover to “anytime on the bike”, which would include things like commuting and other uses of the bike as a vehicle.
Velo NB members are eligable to discounted rates on the Canadian Cycling Bicycle Program.
This is a comprehensive program designed to protect you bicycle from physical damage or theft via a simple easy to use process. The Plan can provide up to $20,000 in coverage per bicycle, as well as accessories. You can make multiple applications for all the bikes you own. Velo NB members are eligible for the discounted rate of $312 a year for a bike regardless if you are a competitive or casual cyclist for a $10,000 bicycle.

- Selection of Competitive or casual user. Velo NB members are eligible for a discounted rate that includes competition, and casual all in one and are advised to select Competitive.

The Velo NB insurance will cover medical expenses incurred upon return to Canada, it does not cover expenses incurred overseas. Expenses incurred abroad will require Travel Medical Coverage for training. Velo NB members are eligible for preferred rates with our insurance partner. Click the button to learn more and to apply.
For athletes & coaches you will require the following information:
- full names/DOB (main applicant could be any of the athletes, and the rest could be included as additional travelers)
- email address where policies should be delivered
- address in Canada (clubs address is fine)
- legal guardian full name / DOB
