What part of NB are you from and what club do you ride with? I’m based in Fredericton, and I ride for Radical Edge bike shop.
How did you get started in cycling? I started cycling before I could even walk, my parents put me on a bike as early as they could, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Riding has always been a part of my life, and I absolutely love it.
What’s been your proudest cycling moment so far? One of my proudest moments on the bike was the day I made my dad bonk on a ride.
What does it mean to you to represent NB at the Canada Games? Representing New Brunswick at the Canada Games means a lot to me. It’s exciting to be from a smaller province—there’s something about being the underdog that really motivates me.
What’s your favourite place to ride in NB? My favourite place to ride in the province has got to be Saint John. Rockwood has all the technical trails you could ever want, and Shady Grove has some amazing flow. The road and gravel riding around there is also some of the best in NB.
What’s one goal you’ve set for yourself at the Games? My goal for the Games is to give it everything I’ve got and enjoy the experience. It’s a special event, and I want to make the most of it.
Any pre-race rituals or must-have gear? As for pre-race rituals, it’s usually French toast with a ton of maple syrup, though I’m not sure I’ll be able to get that at the Games!
Who’s your biggest supporter or role model in cycling? My biggest supporters are definitely my parents. None of this would be possible without them.
