Sussex, NB — Velo NB congratulates the outstanding athletes who claimed podium finishes at the 2025 Provincial Downhill Championships, held at Poley Mountain during the Super RAD Downhill on September 13th.
This year’s event brought together the province’s fastest and most fearless riders for a day of high-speed action, technical descents, and community celebration. With challenging courses and electric atmosphere, the Downhill Championship showcased the very best of New Brunswick’s mountain biking talent.
“The race at Poley Mountain was amazing,” said Executive Director, Chris Foster. “From expert racers to up and coming youth, every competitor brought passion and grit to the track. I want to give a special thanks to Be Rad Adventures for organizing the event, we’re proud to see the growth of downhill racing in the province.”
The Youth Racers made their way down Foxtrot and challenged themselves on the course. The Be Rad Adventure Team was well represented, with Quinn O’Hara from Quispamsis (Female U11), Ember Vandendort, Rothesay (Female U11), and Allison Walker, Quispamsis, Female U15 all taking home the tile.
In the Male categories, Miller Cleghorn representing Bike Works took the honours in the Male U11 category. Hudson Boyd from Kings County would take the U13 title over Maxime Beaudoin of Saint John with a time of 3:26.221, just edging Max’s time of 3:26.328. Close results followed in the U15 category with Charlie Vienneau Aube of North Tatagouche winning the crown with a 3:12.380, just ahead of NB Gravity Racing’s Victor Nadeau and his time of 3:12.602.
Sara Ross of St George would claim Female Novice honours, as well as Bem Matthews in Male Novice. In the Sport Category, Sophia Burry representing Millenium Cyle and Empower to Ride would take the Female title, and Jacob Guptil from Saint John the Male title of Provincial Champion.
The final category of the day would be the Expert Category, challenging themselves on More Cowbell. Morgan Roherty from Beaver Dam was crowned the Female U17 Champion with a time of 2:46.340 on the daughtering course.
In the Male categories, NB Gravity Racing showcased their skill with winners in three different categories. Miguel Robichaud from Moncton (U17), Ryden Belliveau (U19) and Zacharie Corey (Senior Elite) would take home the title of Provincial Downhill Champion, with the Masters 35+ Championship going to the local legend John McNair of Outdoor Elements.
