VELO NB
Velo NB is the provincial governing body for the sport of cycling in New Brunswick. We represent the full range of disciplines including Road, Track, Cyclo-cross, Mountain Biking, BMX and Para-cycling.
Our mission is to provide opportunities and support for cyclists, athletes, coaches, and commissaires. We do this through athlete development, competitions, and collaboration with all types of stakeholders focusing on the growth and safety of our sport.

Velo NB Board Member Wayne Arrowsmith caught up with Alex Hayward this week to present him with the Velo NB President’s Award – Senior Male 🏆. Alex was unable to attend last month’s AGM as he was overseas cycling in Europe. We're proud to recognize his exceptional work ethic, dedication, and achievements on and off the bike. Alex’s exploits on the international scene where numerous and memorable in 2024. He scored podium wins in both track and road events around the world, including World Championship races. The crowning accomplishment of his season is the bronze medal he earned in the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. ![]()

This past Saturday, the Town of Salisbury hosted their annual Time Trial (TT), with 22 riders turning out despite the cool, wet conditions. While the weather was far from ideal, the TT still delivered some excellent times and showcased big individual efforts across all categories. Riders dug deep and pushed hard against the wind and drizzle, making for a gritty and competitive day on the course.![]()

🌧😞Unfortunately, the weather didn’t let up, and Sunday’s road race was cancelled due to safety concerns. A tough call, but the right one given the circumstances.![]()

A big thank you to the Town of Salisbury for doing an excellent job organizing the event and rallying volunteers. And of course, thank you to the athletes who showed up ready to ride.![]()

Samedi dernier, la Ville de Salisbury a tenu son contre-la-montre annuel, auquel ont participé 22 coureurs malgré des conditions fraîches et humides. Même si la météo était loin d'être idéale, le contre-la-montre a tout de même enregistré d'excellents temps et mis en valeur les efforts individuels de toutes les catégories. Les coureurs ont donné le meilleur d'eux-mêmes et ont combattu avec acharnement contre le vent et la bruine, offrant une journée de course intense et compétitive.![]()

🌧😞Malheureusement, la météo n'a pas faibli et la course sur route de dimanche a été annulée pour des raisons de sécurité. Une décision difficile, mais judicieuse compte tenu des circonstances.![]()

Un grand merci à la Ville de Salisbury pour son excellent travail d'organisation et pour la mobilisation des bénévoles. Et bien sûr, merci aux athlètes qui se sont présentés prêts à rouler.![]()
